Over a decade ago, our founder, Jarren Long, laid down the foundations of Cyanide Software by opening Long Technical Co. in May of 2011, Spokane's original "one stop technology shop". Jarren had previously been operating independently since 2004 under the moniker of "JincS", and felt that it was time to consolidate his efforts into a formal business. After over three years, Long Technical began to shift gears towards contract software engineering, and shuttered most of its hardware and IT offerings, save for legacy client support. After years of requests from old and new clients alike to bring back our full line of services, Long Technical was finally incorporated under the name Books N' Bytes, Inc., and our old service offerings were revived.
After reforming as Books N' Bytes in 2017, we had expanded our service offerings, branching into even more technology related fields to include just about everything you could ever want or need out of a technology shop. We also moved to a flat rate "time and materials" billing model to take all of the guesswork out of how much your project may cost to complete. Our goal was to ensure that our clients never have to think twice about their technology needs. Unfortunately, Books N' Bytes was shuttered on December 31st, 2020 due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2022, as COVID-19 restrictions were beginning to lift, Jarren continued to operate as an independant contractor, providing maintenance and support for past clients and their projects. Once the remaining COVID-19 restrictions were lifted in 2023, the demand for Software Development services began to rise, and Jarren founded Cyanide Software on June 1st, 2024.
